Volkswagen to pinpoint efforts on hybrid and electric cars

Volkswagen has announced plans to condense its production efforts on hybrid and electric cars in the small-term future. The leading Phaeton conduit will be the focus of the changes initially, ahead the adjustments are rolled out across the range.

Volkswagen will also be looking to swell its range of plug-in hybrid models with CEO, Herbert Diess, stating an initiative to reposition the brand for the future.

He said: “We are enhancing more efficient, we are giving our product latitude and our core technologies a new focus, and we are creating latitude for forward-looking technologies by speeding up the effectiveness programme.”
