New Porsche 911 details announced ahead of Frankfurt debut

Porsche
has released the final details of the new 911 model ahead of its
release at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The latest model
boasts a host of new features that will keep it at the top of the sports
car market.

The switch to turbocharged engines is the most eye
catching development but there are also new exterior features to improve
efficiency and performance. Four-point LED daytime running lights and
reshaped air intakes are the main changes to the front, while there is a
new rear engine cover at the back.

Drivers will also be able to
make use of the advanced Porsche Communication Management (PCM)
touchscreen infotainment system, which includes Wi-Fi and Apple Carplay
for the first time.

Under the bonnet a new turbocharged engine
range delivers pure driving excitement. Entry level Carrera models have a
redeveloped 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine, which increases power
by 20bhp to 365bhp.

The Carrera S variant receives a series of
boosts that give it a maximum output of 414bhp and a 0-62mph time of 3.9
seconds. Hitting the Sport Response button will ready the drivetrain
for 20 seconds of maximum acceleration, helping you to get the most out
of the engine. It’s the efficiency figures that really impress though,
with the turbocharged engines capable of producing up to 38.2mpg with CO
2 emissions of just 169g/km.
