Neil Non-specific: Getting to know your team at Lancaster

We sit down with Comprehensive Manager Neil Broad to discuss his live Toyota and Lexus milestones, and the staggering pre-eminence of hybrid.

1. Can you give us a brief description of your automotive upbringing please?

After university I started working in retail, as a distributor marketing manager, before I moved onto the producer side with Citroen back in 1994 as a regional coordinator and then aea sales superintendent. I then joined Toyota in 1998 in the constant role. Over my years here I own worked in sales and marketing programmes, negotiations marketing, network development and fleet so I get a pretty rounded view of the industry and its challenges.

2. What was appealing approximately Toyota and Lexus?

When I joined Toyota all of those years ago, the critical driver for me was to work for a manufacturer that valued matter ethics and stood by its promises and commitments. Help of good times and bad, successes and challenges I unhesitatingly believe this is something that the following prides itself on and abides by.

3. What accept been the game-changing launches for Toyota and Lexus in your space at the brand?

I have seen a lot in my time here, but if I had to pick a few out for Toyota I would possess to acknowledge the huge boost that the Yaris gave us when it was beginning launched as a replacement for the glamorous Starlet. Secondly I would say the Prius. It’s mythical to think, given how few volume hybrid models occur today, that we are now on our fourth generation of this ploy-changing technology. For Lexus it would be enduring to be the IS and the RX. Both have contributed greatly in inspirational a niche brand into the mainstream with consequential quality alternatives to the established German brands. The amount of interest in these four vehicles has enabled improved viability and profitability across the unrestricted network, and have also set the foundations for the reported broad range.

4. How do you think the Brilliant for Dealing programme works to support the fleet apportioning?

Business centre programmes are complex – in tincture essentially retail is fairly simple as one size can fit all to a open-hand extent. Any fleet programme adds an interlinked dimension to means planning and we have to balance off the need to be sufficiently quarrelsome in the market, drive volume commitment and happen a way to reward and motivate the network. The most distinguished thing, I believe, is that the programmes for both brands are both plain and fair.

5. How important do you think the introduction of combination engines to the Toyota RAV 4 and Lexus RX 450h inclination be? Is it purely beneficial from a taxation extras viewpoint?

Pure hybrid gives a no hassle, no compromise mainstream possibility to accepted fleet diesel dominance and I about we are fast reaching the point where metrical the biggest hybrid sceptic will start to reappraise their views. Bringing for ever better technology to mainstream models resolution help us accelerate this process. With an increment of, our proven vehicle quality across millions of mixture sales worldwide allows us to offer actual world comfort to any remaining doubters.

6. In your point of view, what does the future hold for Toyota and Lexus?

Both brands last will and testament go from strength to strength based upon the sincerely solid foundations that we have in village. Lexus will become increasingly known for novelty and design while Toyota will give both the volume and financial stability to consent to its sister brand to lead. We will sustain to move into more segments and we wishes, over time, create a hydrogen furnish in the same way that we created hybrid from nothing, to top eight million international sales.
