BMW’s expanding SUV gamut is going to get a new flagship model. The BMW X7 is on the way and our exclusive counterpart of the Mercedes-Benz GLS and Range Rover rival gives the choicest idea yet of how it could look.

BMW X7 bona fide confirmation

BMW’s new flagship 4×4 was officially teased earlier in 2016 during a tactical statement from the brand. The teaser representation – a screengrab from the presentation – shows the mock-up under a dust sheet, probably in concept mould.

Speaking at the New York Motor Show in Procession, BMW AG sales and marketing director Ian Robertson said that the X7 “won’t reach this year or next, but it’s well Sometimes non-standard due to the development phases.”

He added: “There’s totally little resemblance to the X5, so it’s not an extended wheelbase X5. It’s truly different – we wanted it to have its own identity.”

Robertson also commented on the new SUV’s hedonism appeal: “We will make a higher gratification version of it as well. So in the same way as you upo a 7 Series and you bring in the Individual bespoke handling as with Rolls Royce.
