The SS100 is widely considered to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing cars created by Jaguar, and the first recorded use of the Jaguar ‘leaper’ mascot.

Between 1936 and 1940, only a few hundred of these two-seater convertible sports cars were built, making it one of the rarest Jaguars in existence; it must have been a shock for Jay Leno when one turned up at his Garage.

The original SS100 was built by SS Cars Ltd, known today as Jaguar, which changed its name post-WWII, but it’s no surprise that the model visiting Jay Leno’s Garage was in fact a replica, built by Jason Len of XKs Unlimited in California to exacting standards and the original design – and what a fine SS100 replica it is.
