Ferrari ascendancy at the World Endurance Championship

The last rounded of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) was held in Bahrain at the end of November. Called 6 Hours of Bahrain, it was the ultimate stage of a worldwide contest that saw both rejoicing and defeat for Ferrari.

The SMP Racing team won the GTE-am designation in Ferrari no. 72. The AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia came following on the day, driven by Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander. It was an astounding day of racing that rounded off an incredible flavour. 6 Hours of Silverstone was hosted in April 2015, when the UK enjoyed the act of the motoring endurance event.

Ferrari’s racing segment and its success on the track continues to inform and prompt the design of its road-going production cars.
