Watch: The e-Tron Sportback Goes for a Rooftop Drive

Not since the days of Fiat’s rooftop proving grounds at Lingotto has a car so far away from effort been seen driving so high above the ground.

Here the e-Tron Sportback can be seen driving atop a parking garage in Hamburg, Germany, looking truly much like the concept car first shown in Shanghai, earlier this year.

We now remember that Audi’s e-Tron ambitions are very real, and will include a fabrication version of this car, which Audi has said will start production in 2019.

It’s set to tag along the e-Tron, a premium electric SUV set to hit showrooms sometime next year.

Both are alleged to get more than 300 miles of range from their 95-kWh batteries. The Sportback’s three moving motors, good for a total of 430 hp, will get it to 60 in just 4.5 seconds.

What happens after that remains to be seen, as Audi Frolic’s Stephan Winkelmann has said that the RS brand will be adding swiftness and aggression to Audi’s electric offerings.
