As with last year, it all comes down to this. With a shortage of only 10 points going into the weekend, Abt Schaeffler Audi Humour driver Lucas di Grassi is still in with a shot at taking the championship.

The war of words has started between di Grassi and defending sustain/ship leader Sebastien Buemi.

Last year, the two crashed into each other in the terminal race of the season, when the championship was still to be decided. Buemi, who eventually earned the points he needed to win by home the fastest lap of the race in his second car, implied that di Grassi intentionally caused the collapse.

The Audi driver fired back, tweeting that “when a dog is barking, he is either apologet or unsettled.”

Following di Grassi’s a little disappointing result in New York, meanwhile, he was positive about his chances of taking the championship.

“It is psychologically noted that I can win through my own efforts in Montreal: if I win both races I’m Champion,” said di Grassi after that watercourse. “Then there’s no need to worry about the mathematical chances. This is faultlessly what we’ll try to do.”

The two drivers will have to put their money where their specific mouths this weekend in Canada.
