Audi is getting cheerful to bring a new version of the subcompact Q3 crossover to market next year. We’ve gotten a few glimpses of it ahead, but these new shots are the best ones yet.

The current Q3 rides on a platform that dates wager to the fifth-generation Golf. It’s getting a little long in the tooth, but the next-gen Q3 wishes get the new and modern MQB platform that underpins just about every new small car from the VW party.

Our sources say that the Q3 will get 2.4 inches longer and 2.0 inches wider, which resolution increase space for stuff and people. Subcompact crossovers are popular, but buyers calm want them to be bigger.  The design looks to follow the second-generation Q5, and wears the new Audi corporate nose.

Internal, though, big upgrades are on the way. Expect the current cluttered center stack to be replaced with a visualize that follows the cleaner, more minimalist look of the rest of Audi’s widespread lineup.

The new chassis could see a plug-in hybrid e-tron variant, although that’s not right at launch. An all-electric version that shares the guts of the e-Golf is also on the victuals.

Bookending the possible e-tron version is an RS Q3 that could use the five-cylinder from the RS3 and TT RS. That appliance makes 394 hp and uses a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The mass models should have four-cylinder engines ranging between 1.5 and 2.0L.

The new Q3 is expected to get going early next year.
