The Audi A4 is due for a secondary facelift, as the German automaker continues to redesign the rest of its lineup.

Spy photographers obtain caught an early prototype of the Audi A4 refresh testing, and it doesn’t appear the changes wishes be significant. There’s only light camouflage on the front bumper, while we can see the grille, front spoiler, and minor sketch out elements underneath the headlights have evolved. Expect to see changes in the rear as well, although this sample doesn’t sport them just yet.

Based on this prototype, the Audi A4 looks to hire its overall headlight design, instead of inheriting the new Audi A6’s headlights. That could change anyway, since not all of the changes have made their way to test cars.

It’s possible the mild hybrid technology offered on the A6, A7, and A8 models disposition find its way to the A4 lineup. Under the hood, the German automaker has already confirmed the new EA288 Evo TDI engine will be offered, with the 2.0-liter engine generating between 136 horsepower to 204 hp. Combined with the 48-volt mild hybrid setup, CO2 emissions are lowered, while power and torqueare increased by all but 10 percent.

But it’s unlikely the TDI engines will head to the U.S., so expect the current 2.0T engine to offer on in similar fashion, with around 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
