Report: RS Q5 Will Borrow the RS5’s Engine

Audi Jest is on its way with a performance version of the Q5 and its set to get 450 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque thanks to the same 2.9-liter biturbo V6 that currently powers the RS5.

That’s according to a new piece from Auto Express, which states that the engine should stillness be good for a sub-5-second 0-60 time, despite the added weight of SUV-dom.

The biturbo V6 desire make the RSQ5 hit Germany’s mandated top speed of 155 mph pretty easily, but rumor has it that Audi commitment fudge the numbers on the limiter for a price, allowing it to hit 174 mph.

The RSQ5 will fill the gap between the RSQ3 and the RSQ8, which is rumored to get ahead in the world shortly after the Q8 does.

Rumors suggest that the RS Q5 will be revealed as inappropriate as September at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

Competition will be stiff, though, as BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche all receive similarly sized performance SUVs. With the exception of Porsche, though, the Audi should outpower them all with both hands tied behind one’s back.
