Mattias Ekstrom took his Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro to the top of the FIA Crowd Rallycross Championship this year, but to do it again, he says, longing require more help from Audi.

“When I started the venture I knew we were going to keep it at the unchanged level for three years,” Ekstrom told motorsport.com, but “I deliberate on it will be unrealistic for me to continue without any champion.”

With the competition heating up, and great drivers like past WRC champion Petter Solberg to compete against, it’ll snatch something special to stay on top.

“It is barely a must as Peugeot and Ford are really raising the bar and doing a superior job than they have ever done,” he says.

Fortunately for Ekstrom, Audi has expressed a have an eye to increase its involvement in Team EKS, even after its withdrawal from the Wolrd Perseverance Championship. That could have something to do with the capacity of electric cars in rallycross.

“I think rallycross is booming to be one of the best places to showcase high bringing off electric cars,” says Ekstrom. “In Instructions E the cars are not so fast and are supposed to last for altogether long. I think rallycross could be the thorough opposite and show the maximum performance of an moving car and in an extreme way.”

Although no electric class has yet been announced by WRX, the start of such a class seems likely, notably after the series’ American counterpart, Red Bull Broad Rallycross, announced an electric class in its series.

“I would certainly like to develop an electric rallycross supercar,” says Ekstrom. “Imagine if you had a 1000-horsepower car. It would be insanely unheated.”
