Porsche Panamera Platform Could Spawn 928 Successor

The chassis and powertrain encase currently serving in the Porsche Panamera and Panamera Sport Turismo may spawn a two-door coupe model, according to a new description.

German publication AutoBild claims a front-engine, two-door model could attain by as early as 2019. There’s not much information on this supposed 928 successor, but the automaker has stated publically that it’s public to such an idea.

“We’ve not ruled it out (a Panamera Coupe), but our focus is firmly on the electric cars we procure in development,” Porsche CEO Oliver Blume told Car Magazine in early 2017.

While Porsche said decisive year it was focused firmly on the development of the Mission E electric sedan, it seems possible that a moneymaking development process for the electric car may have pushed the Panamera coupe further up in line. We do about that 2019 seems unrealistically early for such a model to arrive, notably with Porsche having just recently introduced the Panamera and Panamera Sport Turismo, but we’re left over optimistic.

The AutoBild report also indicates Porsche plans to launch a Cayenne Coupe this year. This artefact seems like a no-brainer for Porsche if it’s looking to boost sales and market share in regions like the US and China, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it as a matter of fact did debut this year.
