The new Audi S8 is apposite nearing its debut, as the German automaker is testing the high-performance sedan without any camouflage.

Spy photographers caught the next Audi S8 on the Nurburgring, wearing a quad exhaust setup that’s oft found on S-badged models. Overall, there are subtle changes to the sedan’s skin compared to the standard A8, as most of the changes will focus on enhancing performance.

It’s believed power commitment come from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, similar to the one Euphemistic pre-owned in the Porsche Panamera Turbo. The current S8 offers 605 horsepower from a 4.0-liter TFSI engine, so envision an increase when the new model debuts. Rumors say it could reach 650 hp.

And since it does conveyed on on the MLB platform, the S8 could also take advantage of another Porschepowertrain, the plug-in hybrid setup rest in the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

Expect more information in the coming months as the Audi S8 launching shouldn’t be too far off.
