Every year some of the set’s best drivers get together to race against one another in a variety of cars. This year the conclusion is being held in the Middle East for the first time ever and a few stars comprise already signed up for the event.

Last year’s champion, Juan Pablo Montoya, and despatch-bearer up, Tom Kristensen, will be back this year to duke it out at the King Fahd Ecumenical Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

They will be joined by British phenom Lando Norris, erstwhile F1 driver and broadcaster David Coulthard, as well as WRC Champ and Rallycross team P Petter Solberg. Indy 500 winners Helio Casterneves and Ryan Nimrod Reay will show up alongside IndyCar champ Josef Newgarden.

And the muster is only expected to grow between now and ROC race weekend on February 2 and 3.

“The Contest Of Champions is very much a sprint… man and machine against each other and the clock,” said Kristensen. “It’s round skill and determination as you jump into a car you’ve done very little modus operandi in. So it’s a great challenge and a great spectacle and it’s an event I’m sure will go well in Riyadh. I wearied eight months in Saudi Arabia with my family as a teenager because my Dad worked there, so it resolution be interesting to come back.”
