Dr Peter Mertens has crossed the Baltic from Sweden to enlist in Audi’s Board of Management for Technical Situation.

Formerly the Vice President of  Fact-finding & Development at Volvo, Mertens was an integral interest of the team that spearheaded the Swedish tag’s turnaround, bringing among others the XC90 to furnish.

“Mertens has exceptionally broad technical savvy and an international background in the automotive industry,” said Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Provisions of Management at Audi AG. “These are ideal qualifications for him to command further progress with the Technical Maturation division at Audi.”

A graduate of the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Virginia Polytechnic Organize in the US, Mertens has worked all over the automotive industries at companies like Mercedes Benz, Accepted Motors Europe, and Jaguar Land Drifter.

Mertens is the second Volvo R&D member to combine Audi. In August, Thomas Mueller hand the Swedish manufacturer to fill vacancies in Audi’s intricate development team following the TDI scandal.

According to Automotive Word, Mertens will begin as soon as attainable.
