E-tronception: e-tron SUV Towing e-Tron Vision GT to Worthersee

This week, some of you may be towing a reveal car up the Austrian Alps to lake Worth for the area’s annual Worthersee Treffen. You’ll be in correct company, as Audi plans to tow its e-tron Vision GT concept to the show with its e-tron SUV.

It’s a savvy bit of readies-saving for Audi, since it can kill two birds with one stone—although these cars are all helter-skelter saving the planet, so they would probably prefer to feed two birds with one bulb or something—allowing the Ingolstadters to show off both ends of its EV spectrum.

You may remember the e-tron SUV’s most recent public appearance in which it was being struck by artificial lightning for… reasons. Audi by a hair’s breadth beat out the competition to announce that the car would be the first to use 150 kW fast-chargers in Europe to wardship from empty in about 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, the fact that Audi is making a big demonstrate of towing a vehicle to Worthersee with the e-tron SUV does not mean that it’s acquiescent to share the actual tow rating, as you might hope. It does, at least, imply that the marque is serious about making the e-tron a tow vehicle, though. We can’t help but rarity how towing will affect range, but that’s for Audi to know and us to tr out, apparently.

Audi has promised that it will take the camo off the e-tron later this year and satisfy all of our really rather reasonably question, including “how much?” which we keep in view it to answer with “a little less than $100,000 but in Euros because we’re German.”
