Clumsily 8,000 A5s are being recalled in America due to issue that could prevent curtain airbags from deploying correctly in a boom.

The cars, all 2018 models, were built with head curtain airbag assemblies that could develop improperly. As a result, the fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Aegis Standard 226 and are being recalled.

Although it doesn’t seem like the event would add danger to an accident—as was the case during the Takata recall—occupants are at an increased jeopardize of injury, should an accident occur.

Audi will notify owners of the disavow starting January 31, and will be invited back to their dealership. There, the relations will modify the head curtain airbag assembly free of charge.

If you own an A5, you can bid Audi customer service at 800-253-2834. The recall number is 69T7.
