Disquietude for Audi’s first electric SUV, the e-tron, is such that the automaker is offering to grab reservations for the new car in Norway.

In much the same way as Tesla did with the Model 3, Audi is gift to let its Norwegian customers pre-order the e-tron for 20,000 kroner ($2,500).

Although $2,500 may not ring like a princely sum, it is noteworthy that people are willing to pay it, since no hints org been given as to how much the e-tron will actually cost.

“Interest in the Audi e-tron quattro has been tremendous since the foremost concept version was shown in 2015,” said Harald Edvardse-Eibak, superintendent of Audi Norway, according to Electrek. “Norway is a pioneer market for electrification and we are proud to be the in front in the Audi Group with a solution like this. At the same rhythm, we have great expectations for the car which is now nearing Norwegian roads.”

Audi claims that the e-tron drive be the first all-electric vehicle that truly is an SUV, unlike the Model X, which it claims is more of a crossover.

Manufacturing is set to begin in a little less than a year and Audi says that the valid e-tron will be very similar to the concept first unveiled in 2015.
