With the Audi e-Tron launching imminently, the topic of an all-electric sports car is naturally raised. And the good news is that Audi is ratiocinative about that, too.

Speaking to Auto Motor und Sport, Audi’s Peter Mertens said that the stigmatize intends to build its own electric sports car based on Porsche’s PPE (Premium Platform Electrifying) platform.

The platform is being designed for Porsche’s Mission E electric sports car. As with the VW Number’s other chassis, though, there’s a lot of latitude for change.

As Mertens puts it: “In the PPE (Sparse Platform Electric), for example, Porsche is responsible for the rear axle. We define ourselves altogether much about sportiness, motorsport, but also about vehicles such as an intended – let’s invite it – E-Tron GT.”

According to Auto Motor und Sport, an “e-Tron GT” would obtain design elements from the Q8 and the R8 e-Tron, but will take the shape of a four-door coupe.

With the PPE stage undergirding it, there would be up to 600 hp on tap, all-wheel drive, and a 310 mile lot.
