Audi Ingolstadt Plant Halts Production of A4 and A5

Construction of the A4 and A5 at Audi’s Ingolstadt plant will halt until Thursday of this week, due to a parts want following a fire at a supplier.

The part causing the stoppage is front wall cladding, according to Automotive Gossip, who also report that the Ingolstadt plant produces 1,400 A4 and A5 models per day.

Fortunately, Audi also makes the cars at its Neckarsulm transplant, where production has not been affected. Audi’s Ingolstadt plant also produces the A3, Q2, and Q5 models, but preparation of those models has not been derailed by the parts shortage.

The work stoppage disposition impact 8,500 workers at Audi’s Ingolstadt plant, which employs take 43,000 people.
