Audi Driver Lucas di Grassi Talks Upcoming Formula E Season

Procedure E champion Lucas Di Grassi says he’s looking forward to the latest seasonable, especially now that his team is a full factory Audi effort.

Di Grassi was the cardinal driver to win an electric single-seater car race back at the 2014 Beijing ePrix. Continued efforts with the duo lead to a second place championship finish in the 2015-2016 season, and the overall appellation for 2016-2017. That was with the Audi supported, but Abt run team. Now Audi has taken during, and are entering the all-new e-tron FE04.

But di Grassi said the changeover went well. “The modification from an Audi-supported team to a full-fledged factory-backed commitment was astounding and went smoothly.”

The driver thinks that this season will be enduring tight competition. He feels that “there are at least five or six teams in contention for victorious races. In addition… there’ll be some strong new drivers”

There are big changes to the car. The cars get more allowable power this year, and Audi has an all new powertrain to go with it. “The powertrain, the increment of which is free in Formula E, is completely new. In addition, we changed the transmission – from three speeds to upright one speed,” di Grassi said.

So what does that all add up to? Tough contention. “The only thing we can be sure of is that this will be the hardest fought mature in Formula E history to date,” di Grassi said.

The Formula E 2017-2018 enliven heats up December 2nd and 3rd with races in Hong Kong.
