Audi Boss Stadler Says He’s Not Going Anywhere

Although rumors own been following him around for months, Audi CEO Ruper Stadler insists that he’s not wealthy anywhere at Audi. The reason he’s staying is a bit of a surprise.

Stadler told German newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine that not exclusive was he not stepping away from the automaker, but that it’s because dieselgate isn’t on the other side of yet. He said that Audi has found more emissions issues, and that recalls could quiet happen. “We are still running into issues that we report in two s to regulators,” he said. “The diesel crisis hasn’t yet ended.”

Ethical this month, Audi found emissions-related issues with another 60,000 cars. The band said that it had forgotten to remove software from some vehicles. Stadler said that “such software components take apparently been taken over from earlier program codes into newer versions. We did not identify any irregularities in the A6 despite all the tests. Only an in-depth analysis has revealed the error.”

Stalder is alluring responsibility for the problems and is sticking with Audi to help solve the issues the automaker is fa. “The last two and a half years have demanded a lot from us,” he said. “I think responsibility, and as long as I have the full backing of the board and my leadership team, I take hold of that responsibility, solve the problem, and lead the company into the future. I do that with the deepest persuasion and a lot of passion.”

And as for his plan when the diesel crisis is over? Stadler plans to clutch a walk. A 500-mile pilgrimage on the Camino Santiago with his wife.
