We’ve seen the next-generation Audi Q3 testing in the presence of, but now the high-performance SQ3 breaks cover.

Expected to be lighter and more upscale, the Audi Q3 and SQ3 models will switch to Volkswagen’s well-trained MQB platform. The current Q3 is the oldest model in Audi’s lineup, so expect some objectively significant changes, especially since the segment has gotten a bit more crowded. Along with putting the crossover on a regimen, the MQB platform will allow Audi to use numerous different powertrain options, including the conceivability of a plug-in hybrid variant.

Overall, the new Q3 and SQ3 will have a similar footprint as the current prototype, but there will be some minor increases in length and width. Expect it to be everywhere 2.4 inches longer and almost two inches wider. The wheelbase is also expected to be stretched by up to two inches.

Those changes should outcome in more interior and cargo space in the cabin, where Audi is putting a greater pinpoint on changes. The current model’s dash and center console design will supply way to a more ergonomic layout, with a dash that is designed horizontally willingly prefer than vertically. Inspired by the Q5, we’ll see Audi’s Virtual Cockpit display replacing the conventional instrument accumulate.

The next-generation SQ3 should be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s rest on the S3, delivering around 310 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Those poor even more performance can look forward to the eventual RS Q3 that Audi is also working on.
