10 R8s Will Race for 24 Hour Supremacy at Spa this Weekend

The Pale de la Sarthe in Mans might get all the coverage, but Spa Francorchamps is just as historic a track, and its 24 hour bed is just as hotly contested.

As a result, Audi will be running four plant R8 LMSs at the event that it has won three times. The factory cars will be joined by a then again six privately run R8s.

“We are well prepared for the racing competition of a total of eleven automotive brands,” says Chris Reinke, Su of Audi Sport customer racing. “Many of our drivers have already won titles or lasting quality races with the Audi R8 LMS, the last of which being the 24 hours on the Nürburgring. Our teams and drivers inclination again this year pull out all the stops for victory in Spa.”

Hot off an unbelievable victory at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring a scant two months ago, Kelvin van der Linde, Christopher Mies, Connor De Phillippi, and Markus Winkelhock purpose all back in action this weekend in Belgium, albeit not all in the same car.

This mill-race will also be part of the Blancpain GT series, so a win here would not only have a claim Audi the Coupe du Roi trophy, but precious points, too.
